Default T-Top shades

Do you guys keep your t-top shades in or out most of the time? Just curious, because I like to keep mine out...I feel like I can enjoy the car more. Otherwise it feels like a hardtop car.

Mine have been sitting on the shelf since I got my car. I think its cool to have a glass roof. It feels more open with them out and I like it better that way

I leave mine in most of the summer when the tops are on 99% of the time because of the heat. They really do help a lot. Once it cools down I take them out because the tops are also more likely to come off.

In the '98, they are always in. In the '02, they are always out. Keeps things a bit different, makes one feel like a hardtop.

Yeah that's a good point your decision also might depend on where you live. Here in Massachusetts we don't normally go more than a week with 90 F weather at a time. You will only find it june-august and the sun isn't as strong up here.

I put mine back in bc it had been upper 90s for a few weeks here in NC and it really helps. Had them out for probably 3-4 months and when I put them in it felt like a different car lol, kinda claustrophobic

Only time I ever took mine out was when people asked about them. Otherwise, I prefer my shade.

i typically keep mine in the 96, but it doesn't have working air, so the shades help keep it a tad cooler. a/c in the ws6 is still freezy cold so i let the sun beat down on my head

I live in OK, just put them in a week ago and they are staying in for the summer. Coming out right when it cools down though!

At first I liked them out because like everyone else said it makes it like you have a "glass roof." But then time went by and I started getting irritated with the sun cooking my head and my car being so freaking hot inside and too bright. I like it darker and cooler in the car, seems more comfy. And then it seems like a bigger change going from the "Hard Top" feel to the "No Top" feel.

^ That's true. If you keep the shades in and then take the tops completely off, it feels like a huge transformation.... Ill probably take mine off tomorrow just for the hell of it... Ill make sure to wear a hat though.. haha

Mine have been out of the plastic bag one time to see what they were and how they fit when I first brought the car home in 2002.

My T/A did not come with the shades. The previous owners lost them. I bought some from Specialized Stainless and keep them off in the winter/raining months. I leave them off just for peace of mind so the t-tops seal properly. They stay on the rest of the year, especially in the summer when we get temps up to 110.
