Default ls1s vs evos

I am kind of curious about this match up. have any of y'all raced evos? how did you do, and what mods did you have on your car at the time of the race?

stock for stock ls1's will have to play catch up. those cars dont have alot of top end acceleration though, the awd takes it away. but fwiw you shouldnt have any problem destroying a close to stock evo after you do the cam and intake, but you're going to need long tubes to really help that cam breathe. dont underestimate those little cars, they can be quick with very few mods.

I raced my friends evo 8 with just a computer reflash. I had intake, exhaust, headers, and a diablo tune. We raced from a 40 roll in second gear and by the middle of third I had him by about 2.5 cars.

well if the new evo is the same as the sti, which it is. from a stand still the sti/evo will get ahead. then my camero slowly catches up than passes, (stock camaro, vs a intake, exhaust sti)

do any mod to your ls1 and itll destroy the sti/evo

70% of the people who drive EVO's are punk import kids who dont know how to drive an AWD car. With the right driver, he'll jump you out of the hole, but you'll pass him at the top end.

i just bought 125 shot nitrous, so i am thinking that even if he gets ahead, i should take them pretty easily. the cam and intake aren't on yet, but should be by the end of the month, along with the nitrous.

p.s. fastest94v6, your camaro looks wicked

I hope you meant to write from a stop. I raced one from a 40mph roll up to about 90 and pierced him in my SS. I didn't even have LT headers back then

Last night I just raced my firends Evo with about 8k in mods. I got worked. I pretty much gave up after racing from 60-90, when he had about 5 cars on me. His Evo is putting down around 330 awhp on pump gas, and 375 on race gas . Just wish I had more money for mods, because then it'd be a different story.

Wow, thats just pathetic.

8K in mods to make 330WHP. Parts/mods for those cars are extremely expensive.

Do you know how fast your car would be with 8K in it?? No comparison

stock camaro ss against a stock evo mr edition, assuming both know exactly what they are doing, if you didn't run 12.9-13.0 flat stock, wave as the evo smokes you all the way to the 1/4. if you do it from a roll, the evo can run as much power as you, but you should still walk away from it

Anyone who knows anything about evos should know that they can get 330awhp for less than a quarter of 8k, your friend got ripped if those were all mods just for power, but I seriouly don't think they were

Yeah 8k in mods, you keep sayin that to yourself. under 400whp and he just needed to up his boost, maybe a reflash and some tuning mods, doesn't even need to upgrade turbo's nor fmic. But you keep tellin yourself that 8k will get u that little hp in an evo, if it make's u sleep better at night.
