Is it worth it? Needing opinions
i found an ls1 in my opinion a steal!. its a 2002 Camaro m6 37,000mi $9,500 hoping not misprint. but all the add says is z28 and the color is white with the plain silver split 5-spoke rims. would you think this car has problems, i suspect something isnt quite on. its a pretty far distance for me to drive just wondering is it worthn going up there and getting high hopes smashed! did i find something worth buying? right next to it was a '98 ws6 72,000mi. at, t-top, $10,900. go figure camaro for sure right?

Things that make you go hmmmm.....
I ran across the same thing the other day. A dealer down in Houston (large Toyota dealer) had an '00 Z28 with 67K miles, 6spd listed on the Autotrader website for $9000. Now, the picture online showed that the headlights were extremely fogged over and yellowing. Now that leads me to believe that it may have been a typo and the mileage should have been 167K. So I called them. I was wrong, it really was 67K miles.
Now although a low mileage LS1 f-body runs between $12K-29K (yep, you read $29K right.....see them all the time in the trader, although the higher priced ones are in large metroplex areas), with most Camaros running $12K-$15K and T/A's running $14K-$19K, finding one for under $10k isn't impossible. Just make sure you do some research on the car first.

I found, and bought, a 99 WS6 with 74k miles for $12,900. Very pleased with the car. One word of wisdom---ask the owner if you can take the car to your local "car doctor" and get it checked out. Just to make sure nothing major is wrong. I've found so many cars with major problems that I was interested in.

they may not know what they have...or they *** raped soemone ona trade in. I went to trade in my 01 ss with 100k on the clock. one place actually had the ***** to offer me 5k. Then the place I actually traded it in on gave me the 10k i was looking for.
they could have ripped off the person trading it in..or the car could seriously be fucked up. Get the car fax on it cause if anything MAJOR happen..that will tell.

If it is far away ( more than 1.5 hours ) I wouldn't bother unless you have the cash to get a remote inspection done. I forget the name of the company that does those, but they send a guy to check out the car for you and report back. This way you know if its a turd before you drive all the way there.
Also, I had a really bad experience with deals like this before. An SS Camaro with 41,000 miles, supposedly "mint" for the miles it has. I drove like an hour to get there, and upon my first glance I notice it was A PIECE OF ****! It had tons of scratchs, sounded like **** when I turned it on, had oil or something in the air lid ( wtf ). The interior had all kinds of damage. I was like WTF dude you said this **** was mint.

well i would maybe consider a longer distance then 1.5 hours sence when i had to go to high school my drive was an hour, so to me a 1.5 hour drive is perfectly worth it for a car i want

I drove 3 hours to by my camaro in '02 cheapest around. Had been in a lightish frt end accident at one time..... anyway. To answer you're question the car is 5 years old and dropping off the map on trade-in. Probabley has atleast one issue. If you can live with the issue fix your own brakes. Find a set of rims and tires used to replace the curbed one's. Find a nice intererior to change of the burn maked seats.......
If you want a show car run, if you want a nice car go for it. PS: if the car is a "good deal" it will be gone in hours not days.
