Maxing out a bolt-on only car (stock heads, stock cam, NA)

I wonder who that could have been....lol . Just remember this is a honor system. Its just great to see people reaction when they ask what you have done and you say it stock internals, well I had to say stock 98 short block with stock 241 heads. Now I have to add LS6 springs and harden pushrods but that was from having the maggie on the car which still needs to be put back on see what it will due with the right fuel press/tune this time .
Did you do any kind of before and after testing with your kooks and 90/90 or did you jump straight to that from stock?

I ran a vacuum pump on my 509 and gained 25 hp.you don't have a air pump for the EGR that year, but could you install a stock air pump?switch the tube so the air pump is sucking air out of the left valve cover ,and put a small breather cap on the exhaust hose.

I had MAC headers and the 90/90 and went some 11.48-11.56 then installed KOOKS 1 7/8 and a new YAnk SS4000 and have been 11.32 but the track closed for the year .At the same time my 60 ft went from low a 1.5s to high a 1.4s also picked up 1 mph . Just waiting on tracks to reopen .

you can get a air pump from a 1998-2000 f-body for free and wire it up to a switch and run it at the strip.or go to jegs ,they have the mechanical belt driven ones.jegs also sells a electric vacuum pump.

I find the SI racing interesting because it gives a nice benchmark for people to race against and makes for good runs at the track but would it be allowed to say run a 2000 fbody but with a completely stock, non opened 02' long block from another fbody?
Good luck come spring for those gunin' for that list

An automatic transmission is always going to put down better times. I'm going for the 6-speed record though which is around 11.42 where as the auto record is a 10.6

There's not much else besides what's in my sig. Double adj. stranges on the rear, all rod end BMR extreme rear suspension other than the torque arm which is a basic tunnel mounted UMI piece. 28x10.5 ET Drags. Stock front suspension. The only time I scaled the car it was just south of 3500 lbs with me in it and a half tank of gas. I don't remember the exact DA but it was somewhere around 700 ft I think.
The reason I ask about your rpm is because when I put the headersand exhaust on, I picked up 3 mph and I was running out of gear through the traps. The limiter was set at 6400 so my tuner bumped it to 6800. I'm still running the stock rod bolts and I'm a little nervous to turn it that high even though I don't plan on it if I can help it. I think I can keep it at 6500 but even that is higher than I'd like with the 99 bolts.
I've changed quite a bit this winter and I'm hoping to break into the 40's if all goes to plan.

I shift at 6200, just goes through the traps at 6500. I think the benefits of 4.56 gears outweigh the cons. It would definitely slow down with 4.30's. It's already went on a diet this winter with more to come. I race in an index series so I'm not gonna go too far this year otherwise I'll be caught in between index's and have to dump a bunch of weight back in. Anyway, nice thread magnet. I've been following it for a while now. I'm interested to see how your car does this year.
