The link is for pre-ordering 1 7/8" Longtubes for 1998-2002 F-Body. We received our prototype for fitment testing etc. Everything fit correctly the first time. So we currently have a batch in the middle of production. ETA is approx 1-2 months.

Thanks

Ok, apparently we were wrong on the eta for the 1 3/4". They just came into port. We should see them within a few days. As for the 1 7/8" we should still be 1-2 months out.

Thanks
Sean

I am extremely interested in these headers- however I actually haven't a clue as to how to go about ordering the correct kind. Perhaps I shall PM with my dumb questions if thats acceptable

The only thing that we had to remove was the dipstick (of course) and the coil packs to give us a little extra room. The headers slid right in after a finagling, but the y-pipe gave us a little trouble on the drivers side. One of the pipes was basically resting on the corner of the transmission cross-member (the car is an A4) so we had to massage it a little to give us some clearance. Other than that it was an exceptionally smooth install and man do these things look good! I would definitely do it again and recommend them to any one on a budget.
Had this issue as well. I used a TSP Y but the drivers side was still a bit tight. Even with poly mounts I am getting some vibrations. Might have to stick some heater hose in there.

Otherwise the headers went in great.

Glad to hear. Ya, a lot of Y-Pipes hit on that spot. Its been a common issue for quite a few years. Trying to keep as much ground clearance without getting too close to the bottom of the car. In fact when Thunder Racing was around they use to sell a kit that bolted up to the Y-Pipe, and the bottom of the car. It would push the two away from each other stopping the vibration from happening. Kinda cheesy, but it worked.

Is the preorder price substantially different from the normal stock price?

We probably wont increase the price no. The only way the price would increase is if our cost does as well. We wont know exact cost until they come in.

Thanks

I love my race version speed engineering headers. they installed very easy and have great ground clearance and great engine bay clearance especially by the steering shaft. the only complaint is on the drivers side the collector points up tward the floor pan. when installing my texas speed true duals I had to do use my exhaust bending machine at work to make the pipes for the tsp duals fit correct on the drivers side. but these are great headers and I will make great power with them...

Thank you for the comments. Sent you PM about pics, and more questions about the collector.

Thanks

I agree 100% about the driver side collector pointing up too much. I had to " modify" my y pipe quite a bit to make it fit. Other than that the headers are awesome.

Any advantage to the 1 7/8 rather than the 1 3/4 working with around 420rwhp?

I'd like to learn more about the collector angle issue some are having. I've helped install two sets of these; they fit like a glove

Me too, I don't have the means to modify and would like to install just with a friend.
