How much clearance do you actually have there?

I finally got my set up tucked up better, but I still only have about 3.25in clearance at my lowest spot--the cut out flanges. So far it hasnt been a problem...

certain speed bumps i can't make it over without scratching. if i go too fast over most, i'll scrape. odd though, i have only scraped my actual mufflers maybe once, it's that damn kink that gets me.

Default my set up...

Here is what I ened up with:
PaceSetter LT's
2.5" X pipe with cutouts
Sweet Thunders
GreenLight Motorsports quicktune for code deletes

I love the way this thing sounds. It rumbles nice at idle and moderate cruise, NO droning... plus WOT is just !!

My ground clearance is OK. Under the cutout flanges it is about 3.25in.
(My car is lowered on Stranos...)

I have noticed a little bit of a rasp like sound(?) but this is ONLY when I am in gear motoring to a stop. And I can only hear it when I am in town next to a curb, so I hear this bouncing back. If I clutch it and coast it goes away. And its not there when pulling away. Any ideas what this could be??

Here is my 02 trans am ws6 with 2.5" true duals over the axle into borla xr1's, Im not happy with the tips. The first couple vids are before the cross over x-pipe was added. The exhaust shop messed up and never added a crossover on my duals so I recorded video clips of duals with no x or h pipe. Then took the car back to the shop and had them put the magical crossover x in and Im a happy customer.

Before the crossover

Now lets hear it with the x-pipe. Some say it doesnt make a difference in sound if there is a X vs no X.

Just posting this as a refrence for those trying to make a decesion on wether to go with a x or not.

Does anyone run magnaflow 4x9's with 3" piping and have good clearance. Any tricks to get the 4x9's to fit?

D rock, it got rid of some of the rasp, this is interesting because when i had 24 inch long glasspacks dumped with no H it had 0 rasp and was deep as hell, im suprised you had some!

i like the x better but i normally hate x pipes, yours sounds pretty nice man

Oh I was gonna get headers regardless, I was just unsure if I can get the exhaust first and then the headers. I thought the LT's and the oem manifolds have the same endings therefore it didnt matter which route I go with first because they will all mount the same?

not even close. the difference in the collector distance is way longer. just compare an image of the stock manifolds to an image of long tubes and you'll get an idea of how much further back it puts the opening.

EDIT: to put it simpler, if you get the exhaust first, and have it set up to fit your stock manifolds, you'll have to get it re-done once you put the LTs on. it'd be easier just to get the exhaust done once.
