I picked up a 2001 WS6 this week.
The setup is as follows:
-Edelbrock Stepped 1 3/4- 1 7/8 headers
-Texas Speed true duals dumped before the axles with powersticks by torque tech
-Texas Speed T2 Cam
It's also lowered with -Hotchkis Lowering Springs
I love the sound, but being in SoCal, I'm sure most cops aren't going to be so enamored with the noise.
So my questions is, are there any mufflers that will significantly decrease the volume and also not lose much power? This while keeping the true dual setup.
Or any that will make it very quite, but if I lose significant power I could do electric cutouts?

Hmm I'd prefer to just do mufflers, I'm reading good things about the Magnaflow. The stock cats would be pretty restrictive wouldn't they? All those high-flow cats they won't ship to CA.
I don't want this thing to be like a stock car sound, though I definitely wouldn't mind that with whats in it. Just something that will quiet it down closer to a normal sounding stock car with a catback.
My '01 z28 has the slp LM2 and y-pipe, but rest is stock. To me it's actually quiet, and no cop has ever said a word about it. So I don't mind noise, just want it to sound more "legal" lol.

Finally
Well after a few years of wanting to get this done I finally did. I did a lot of research and got some in person reviews of a few systems. Thanks to those members that were available for questions.
Here are the details:
QTP longtubes
Magnaflow spun cats
Magnafow 2.5" x-pipe
over axle 2.5" system
2-Flowmaster 1-chamber mufflers
CME
I wish I could have afforded a nice stainless system with mandrel bends but that was way way way way to far ot of budget... Overall I'm pleased with what I got and that's all that matters.

WS6 True Duals - After axle mufflers, Ceramic, XPipe
You can see/read the complete details on this exhaust at it's original thread back in 2005. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...re-posted.html
Headers: Jet Hot
Mufflers: Remus SportExhaust aftermarket mufflers for a BMW 850Csi v12 (left & right sides)
Cats: Car Sound High flow
X-Pipe: Hand made Oval 2.5"
X-Pipe Extensions: Oval that transitions to 2.5" round.
Over Axle Pipes: Hand made 2.5" round
Support Brace: Removed the old stamped panhard rod support brace to the frame and custom made a chrome moly tube for more pipe clearance on the drivers side.
Trunk Area Mods: The trunk tub was altered slightly along with the spare tire tub. They have been welded, sealed with OEM seam sealer, and OEM body shutz sprayed. The trunk tub then was painted to match the OEM look.

I do, it sounds great but all I've read here is that the scatter effect from an X or H pipe helps so I was thinking about adding one in some time. For now I'm happy with my set-up though, just need to tuck it up.

was wondering when you were goin to post up some pics/video. exhaust looks awsome and sounds really good. I notice you have an extra brace inbetween the tips. did you buy them like that or have them weld in another one? are you goin to leave the cme panel black or you goin to get it painted?

Vid of my exhaust with the new 6.0. Has a 3" Hpipe right now, but switching to an Xpipe later this week, because the H seems a little raspy, and isn't giving me the smoother sound that I'm looking for. May end up swapping the single chambers for some Super 44's soon, if I still think it's too loud and I want a little deeper and smoother tone.

I think I am going to wait on my true dual build so that I can acquire a UMI full length torque arm and a relocation mount. That really sucks too because I've gathered about everything that I need as far as exhaust pieces.
Here's a picture of what I plan on building:
In the picture I've got a 3" flowmaster D-port merge, flowtech warlock mufflers, summit header buddies, and some hedman extensions (just for a few extra mandrel bends). The can of freon was just for contrast, lol... no 12 oz cans around anywhere.
It might be living in a dream world imagining that I can get those warlocks to fit. They're 4.5" tall, 10" wide, and 13" long. I'm not affraid to hammer the crap out of my floor pans, but I think it's still going to be a tight fit between the fuel lines and my Dana 60 rear. Like I said earlier, I'm still rockin the stock torque arm too. Looks like I've got some more saving to do before I can get the full length torque arm
Any of you guys ever relocated your fuel lines? I'm not talkin about flipping the lines (which definitely must be done in my case), but rather routing the fuel lines in a different path so they aren't so close to a full size muffler on the rear passenger seat area.
Here's a link to my true dual build.

Guess it isn't true duals anymore, but I definitely achieved my goals of making the car quieter and increasing clearance.
Sounds almost stock volume wise at idle/low Rpms and doesn't scrape on any normal bumps or driveways.
Sorry, not a fan of the quad tips, these look OK tho IMO.
Big thanks to Roger's exhaust shop in Fontana, CA. Great work, pricing and install time.
