Default Which morel lifters for a stock 02 LS1, link bar?

Need to do some lifter swapping since the LSK lobes and .650 lifts seems to have eaten one up enough that it hangs pretty bad. Which morel lifters are a direct replacement for an 02 LS1 shortblock? Do I need new trays? I see options for link bar, etc but dont know which ones I should order?

I'm guessing the 5206, the same as me. And no need for the trays with the link bars. PR lenght will be different though.

So the link bar lifters drop right in to the factory pockets?

All Morel LS1 hydraulic roller lifters are a direct replacement as far as being able to use them in your block but all need a .050 shorter pushrod as well.

We sell both the link bars and the OEM style ones that use the factory trays but both again are .050 taller at the pushrod cup and need .050 shorter pushrods as well.

Interested in this as well... so which ones are the preferred lifters? Link bars or no link bars?

I like the link bars to get rid of the plastick lifter guides plus they allow more lobe lift without exposing the oil galley.

We use them mostly as we have hydraulic roller stuff with much more lobe lioft than normal and some of the other lifters can lose oil pressure by going to far in eth block plus they can fall outr of the trays or spin in them at a point.

Also on all LSX block stuff we use them as we have seen a few issues with those plastic retainers as well and the link bars can't "spin" in the block like a normal lifter can do with a plastic retainer.

I've seen the new Morel "street" lifters with link-bars on a few of the sponsors/vendors sites? What's your opinion of these lifters as a stock replacement? From what I've seen they run a little less $$'s.

Don't really know as we only use the better ones. Have to find out. I have seen a lifter like that once a month ago but it wasn't even the same lifter whatsoever that we always use?

get the link bars if your going to spend the money. Its nice knowing that you will never have lifter problems again. btw are PBM's the same as morels?

Other than the link bar, how does the construction of the LS7 lifter compare to the Morel street hydraulic model?

Good question I haven't seen them yet but they look similar. I know Thunder lists them maybe Shane could do a comparo between them? Still might be some stuff nice with them?
