Time for more power
I am wanting to have the transom working properly before attacking the water pump and vacuum pump install. I want to drive a while tuning drivability then will take it to the dyno. Hopefully before September 1
Cruising temp on transmission is around 175 , goes up to 180 when I get in it hard but cools back down.
Engine coolant temp is running on the hot side. Idles at 185 until I go drive ,then goes 201. After a while its creeping up to 215 at 60 mph and 225 at 70 after a 5 mile at 70 pace.
I have to install the electric water pump them then I'll work with getting temp right if that dont fix it. Maybe a big aluminum radiator is next.

1) flushed the system.
2) less than 50/50 mix
3) water wetter
4) 180 thermostat
Those changes were worth about 7-10 degrees
Then I changed out my trans cooler to a better one. That helped a lot with the creeping temps at cruising speeds. Then I was having problems still with temps creeping up in stop and go and low speeds. The convertor slippage was the culprit I suspect. I put a 7” fan on my trans cooler and that stopped that and my temps don’t creep anymore. I started out at a max of creeping to 217 and now I may see 205 on extreme situations but normally 190-200. I have a dual row aluminum radiator to go in it now because I’d rather have it around 180-190 if I can.

I have 2 bottles of water wetter to put in when I do water pump as well. For now I changed the stoich in my tune to 14.12 as commanded air fuel for cruising and that helped a lot. E10 gas should be set there anyway so I figured I'd see what it done. It cruised after at 198 and got up to 207 on a hard pass so its helped.
It falls about 1200 to 1400 on the 2-3 shift from what I've seen so far but I guess to make it drive good non lock up, it has to.
Which is fine ,it will hold a 100 shot if that's all its falling
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Locked up figures would be 4.10 gear x 92mph x336 = 126,739 x1.48 (2nd gear ratio in tra s)= 187,574.
÷ that by tire hieght 27.4" and locked up would have been 6846 rpm.
Add that plus 5.5% to get 7230
My CircleD is about 5%.
Yank is somewhere around 12-15% most of the time. That's eating a ton of power.
The FTI sitting here is a triple disk. So I can lockup at WOT. 0% slip.

Had to leave to come to the nursing home with wife for her mother, hopefully get it finished this evening then change ac line.
Slow process But im getting there
I drilled and tapped the front and back of the heads and run 4an lines from rear, tie in to front then to the radiator
Has a nice stream from steam ports to radiator, might move those into 2 separate lines returning into upper radiator hose instead. Back 2 y into a single 6an into the hose and front 2 doing same thing.
Not sure what else to try
About to leave for the weekend, all drive monday and see if it helps
