Question ???agressive Stock Cam Sound???

does an 01-02 F-body cam sound more agressive than a 98-00 cam since it has smaller LSA?

which stock LS cam sounds meanest? 2000 vette cam? 15.5 LSA?

2004 GTO- It has the best cam out of the LS1 cars

but then again the GTO used an LS6 block with a different cam ls6 intake and 241's with true dual exhaust...so it definitely sounded different then a camaro or firebird

yeah a smaller lsa sounds more choopy and agressive . the 98-99 cam is a bit different than the 01-02 . there a lot of folks that run the ls6 cam from the 02+ z06 in turbo and some na setups .

If you are thinking about swtiching your mac for one of these meaner sounding stock LS1 or 6 cams dont wast your time. You wont nottice a sound difference and you will only notice a slight but not worth while gain from the LS6 cam. Just get a 224 cam on a 112 LSA instead. You will still have great daily drivability and notice a lot bigger of a power gain and agreesive sound. Just try to get it to idle around 700 or so with an open cut out and you will have a nice little lope to it.

No. The more overlap the more aggressive the sound.

You will never get that kind of sound out of a stock cam. You cant even lower the idle enough to get any kind of lope out of a stock cam. Hell a stock A4 f-body idles at 500 rpms. Just get a 224 cam on a 112 LSA and it will do exactly what you want.

The 02+ LS6 cam has the most overlap. But you would still have to change springs for it if that is what you are trying to avoid.
