If it's already in the trunk then a cheap acid battery in a good sealed box like the Moroso isn't a problem. The Optimas aren't what they used to be. I have an Exide small truck lead acid battery in the trunk of my Camaro, the biggest that would fit in the Moroso battery box. And it's been going strong since 2015, and the car sits for weeks at a time also and i've only charged it probably once every 6 months. The extra weight just helps traction. I'm in VIC but a bit out of Melbourne.
I’m not sure how much the optima weighs.
When I get my car back, you, me and Mickeyinks should meet up and check out the cars.

I ve used Optimas in the past on previous builds, nuthn but problems...the days of bumping sound systems and cool color matching everything on my car are over...good ol fashion INTERSTATE battery going in my hoopty.

It's tempting but i will let you two have all the fun this time around. I have bias ply hoosiers on my car right now and I don't really want to go near the main suburbs or highways with them, they can puncture easy. I have in the past but i told myself not to anymore, I can't help doing wot runs and if a tyre gets torn from some shrapnel on the road, they will deflate real fast. It could not end up good. When I wear down these hoosiers I already planned to get m/t or m&h radials next time, so I can drive the car everywhere again. The bias ply hook unreal but they're just not practical for the busy roads. Next year if I get radials on i'll let you guys know but at this stage I'm just prepping the car for the 1/4 mile more than anything and I want to finish my ls2/ls7 heads engine and get that in the car.

I will try get some vids of my car and some of it in action to keep you entertained. All I have is this one when it was also running like crap (from bad coils) because I had a friend in the car while we were try diagnose wth was wrong with it and he took this vid with his phone of a 2nd gear run. (link below) . It was hitting the limiter at 6800rpm every single time, like a rev limiter, but it was bad coils all along. I went through hell to diagnose the issue, and what made it even worse is I had just downloaded a new version of HP tuners at the time, and I put a new tune in the car. So I thought the new HP tuners wasn't working to change the rpm limits. I never want to have to deal with anything like that again. From now on I know these LS coils can seem to work OK but then just die at a high rpm and act like an rpm limiter.

I didn't want to post this but....u know I can make a small bore ls7 head for around $1800 pair bare with a 200 dollar profit......Cheaper castings? yes.. are they good? yes but not great...
