At 80,000 With minimal warning tranny goes completely out ( No Engine Light). Dealer replaced with new tranny not rebuilt. Cause was Torque Converter in pieces. Now, at 104,000 Chirping sound from tranny and frequent but mild slips. But goes and engages into every gear fine. Just while driving steady is when i feel the miss or brief slip. Tranny again? Please tell me i'm wrong!
I don't know if this counts. I have an appointment at the Chevy dealer where I work to check it out next week. Been experiencing a huge shift flare on the 3-4 shift. Partial throttle it will run to about 2000 rpms then on the shift will flare out to 2500 then engage AFM I assume and rpms will drop about 100-200 rpms. Also under partial throttle conditions on the 1-2 shift if you roll to about half throttle close to the shift point there is a hard engagement into 2nd.

Tranny gone! It won't pull in any gear! Something snapped while doing some testing(aggressive driving) last Saturday. Taking it in next week for a complete rebuild using TEP upgrade parts. Thanks Dave!

Trans Woes... ouch. For any auto to last 100K is a plus.
I just hit 60K and I'm thinking... How much longer will it last? I have a complete TEP trans kit with gears and converter on my work bench. I would like to pull the trans myself and install the new clutches, bands, valve body, gears and converter sometime soon. I need to figure out how to pull the craddle and trans. I know I need a engine support fixture. My next investment will be a service manual.
This thread sucks.. It's scarry and cancerious.

I guess it's another one of those "they don't make 'em like they used to" situations.
For me, this is only the second car out the 24 or so with automatics that I've owned that ever had a trans problem. And I drove a few of those others beyond 100k miles. Hell, I just replaced the trans in the Grand National after putting 162,000 miles on the un-opened stocker. And some of those miles were done a quarter at a time, with 25+ lbs of boost.
Stuff just isn't made to last these days.

My trans works cause I don't let it lug. I'll step on it, or drop it down a gear if it starts too. Also, I have flushed the fluid twice and changed the filter.
I don't trust it.. and I feel for you guy's.
I bounced off of the limiter yesterday at 6800rpm and it grabbed 2nd just as I let off, and stepped on it again, so the tires and trans went bang/chirp.

Upgrading the motor mount really makes the trans extra snappy!
This trans reminds me of the Th350's. I have blown 4 of those SOB's in weak 180 flywheel hp rated engines.

I should have learned that V8s and FWD don't mix, but I had to do it all over again with the Impala. Sucks.
I would love... to buy it, but I'm sure it's out of my range
Why are you selling it? Are you Crazy?
I know what you mean. Even though I love my GXP, I should have kept my 04Ranger and bought a Vette.

Brought my Super in to a local dealer to have them look at why the vehicle has a delayed engagement. Figured they would know best if there was a fix before I caused damage. To my surprise I have a powertrain warranty until August 2013.
The transmission acted up for them and they removed it. They went through and replaced the input and 3rd clutches, full gasket kit, valve solenoid, all seals and a piston. The seals had gone bad which was causing the delayed engagement. Cost, $0.00. I'll be sure to let you guys know how it feels in time, only got to drive it home last night. (20 miles) Rebuilt trans at 81,065. I'm glad that it is fixed because I do not want to get a new car, I enjoy the Super too much!

Might as well add me to the list. Had the lurching from a stop transmission issues and had it rebuilt from the dealership about 5.000 miles ago. This is quite a list!

Added DavidGXP, too.
