I spend a lot of time with Top Fuel (car and bike) teams. Smokey once said something that is probably the most true statement in racing.

"There are two types of racers, cheaters... and losers".

It's very, very true.

Just played some Forza 3. Was racing an 08-09 CTS-V. You can hear the blower whine when you're up near it. Very impressive. My Ferrari still kicked his *** though.

In other news, I got the new pushrods in the motor (thanks Drew!). Sounds much better now. The little bits of valvetrain noise I was picking up are all but gone. Now hopefully my uber sensitive '98 knock sensors chill out a bit.

I heard Chris sold his IROC...WTF...just put nitrous and stuff on it....!!!

He better be making the G8 fast!!!!!!

I think the South Bend guys and the Ft. Wayne guys need to actually arrange a time/place to race when people have their cars together. I would come out and supervise!

I graduated from pilot training (phase 2 and the T-6) today. Next is the final phase before I get my wings. I start learning to fly the T-1 on Tuesday.

Congrats Ben! Looks like a sweet ride. I've flown a cessna before, and rode in a piper. But that machine looks fast! Whats the specs on the plane? cruising speed? Max speed? Ceiling? Pressurized cockpit?

Why not build/buy a car then you could participate, maybe even set an example, rather than spectate?

I've been informed I'm running the single and twin turbo foxes again tonight.

Some pics of the one you'll fly (Meridian, MS), IIRC:

I went through Liberty around 9:20 or so, and ricerworld around 9:55. Ron and Tina were up at Liberty and no one was at ricerworld.

Thanks Blake. Technically, I am half way there. That pic is of the T-6 (the one I just got done flying). Yeah, it was a blast to fly.

Thanks Nick. The T-1 is a jet. The T-6 (picture from my post above) is a turbo-prop. Basically a jet engine powering a prop. Here's a picture of the T-1 (the one I will be learning to fly in a few days).

The T-6 was pretty damn fast for a prop plane. Max speed is 316 Knots, Mach .67, or just under 500 MPH to put it into perspective for you guys. We would usually cruise around 250 knots (350 ish MPH). Ceiling was 33,000 ft, the cockpit is pressurized, but we still would be on oxygen 100% of the time. Here's a cockpit picture I took of myself while flying a sortie a month ago.

Thanks Scott. I got to see the T-1 up close for the first time yesterday. It looks like a blast to fly! I am going to miss flying the T-6, and getting to act like a fighter pilot flying in close formation, and doing loops, barrel rolls, split S, and other aerobatics, while pulling G's. But honestly, some of it was just simply painfull, and I certianly didn't enjoy all of it. But I always loved the actual flying.

When I get back home from all of this, I'll be happy to take any of you guys up for a flight sometime.
