Cracked front diff housing? Wow, thats a new one to me. What gear ratio?

Wongs Performance here in Vancouver does great tuning and has a Mustang dyno, which creates more load for properly tuning a turbo'd engine.

My gear ratio is 3.73. I've considered changing to 4.10's, but I think that may be to low for the street.

The problem I have now, is that my truck is AWD. I can't dyno tune unless I have an AWD dyno. I'm not able to shut my AWD off.

EDIT: If I knew what I was doing, I could dyno tune at FTW Tuning in Eugene. They have an AWD dyno. They're a Subaru shop.

I think English Racing had an awd dyno at one time, not sure if they still do or not. They're known for DSM's but I think Lucas is pretty good with EFILive software, its not HPTuners but I think he has at least tuned LS platforms before. They are located in Camas, close to Vancouver.

I haven't talked to Lucas in years! I forgot all about him. I've been to his shop a few times back in my 4WD days. He sold me my parts for my 4Runner. Does he still have that Cummins swapped Chevy truck?

Here's my glorious 4Runner.

Sometimes I really miss it. Especially on days like today. Taking the top off and cruising around in summertime weather, priceless.

He did some work on my 91 Talon TSi about 8 years ago when he was still working out of his garage lol... Not sure what he's driving these days.?

I haven't seen him since around 2007. No idea what he's up to. I doubt he'd even recognize me. It's not like we were close friends or anything. LOL

That Cummins swapped Chevy he had was pretty freaking amazing. I think it was over 1000 foot pounds of torque and just rolled black smoke down I5. LOL He used it to tow his race car.

When I was at English for a dyno event a couple years ago he still had the AWD/4x4 dyno setup and at that time, he wasn't in Camas. The shop was off 112th in the same complex as Charlie's Bar & Grill.

Their current website lists Camas in the contacts. Maybe they moved? I know Lucas used to live in Camas.

More Importantly, can he tune an LS engine?

You guys must be REALLY out of the local circle.....Lucas owns a 09+ CTS-V currently and is out of Camas. Its lightly modded and he has been fiddling with different kinds of set-ups for it.

Nice to hear that he is stepping out of the import world a little lol... I would be willing to bet that if he's "fiddling" with that CTS-V, then he's been into the tune at least a little bit.

Well, I sent him an email using the form on the website.

Name: Justin xxxxxx
Email: xxxxxxxxxxxxx@me.com
Car Year, Make, & Model: 2000, Chevy, Silverado
Subject: AWD dyno and LS tuning
Message:
Do you have an AWD dyno or any experience with tuning LS based engines? I
have hptuners software and can do basic tuning. I'm looking for a
professional's opinion on the tune. I'd just need some dyno time and your
experience.

Thanks Lucas,
Justin
His reply.

Justin,

We have quite a lot of experience tuning GM based cars. Lucas has as 09 CTSV that runs 11.1@126mph and we have done all the work and tuning on it here. Still

We have done quite a few Z06's/GTO's and more recently tuned a few turbo 5.3L cars. One that comes to mind is my roommates that actually made 587whp through a TH400 transmission. That equates to almost 700whp through a 5/6 speed. The car trapped 132mph at the track and it is in a 69 fire bird which isnt the lightest car out there

So yes i would say we have experience with them. Most people think all we know are Imports. .

Lucas likes EFILive and would rather work that that.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Myles
Didn't really answer my AWD dyno question. Those are impressive numbers, I guess. LOL. I'm wanting to be in the 700hp neighborhood. LOL.

Yes, but does the dyno extend long enough for my truck's wheelbase?

Well I finally put the Camaro up for sale, its in the FS section.

Time to move on and with a career change and relocation its best if I get rid of it.

I thought I would never sell it lol
