Nice, let's make it happen. Better be soon though. The 6sp and gear swap is gonna happen in a few weeks. I figure that alone should pick up 4-5 tenths.

Seems really low but mathmatically with a 32" tall tire (22" wheels) it should be nearly identically to a 4.10 gear in a Camaro with a 6sp. Will still cruise at 70 with less than 2000 rpms.

That's what I was wondering. Sucks you're losing the 4wd though. Plenty of 2wd tahoes to be had.

My fender lip is right at 32". Running a 32" tire must barely fit in there. Even at stock height.

What's the plan for the engine?

I have never raced it since I did my motor curious to see what she runs now . I wanna toss some 3:73's in it. A 6 speed in a tahoe! Sounds nuts!

Yeah I'm not worried about losing 4wd. It never goes into 4wd anyway. Actually 2wd Tahoe's in this body style are hard to find. Most were produced as 4wd's.

Mines at 32.5 front and 33.5 rear with a 3/5 drop. No rubbing and could easily go down another 1" up front an 1.5" in the back.

Engine will be an iron block 5.7 w LS6 rotating assy, 228/230 cam and I'm going to hand port some 799 heads. A TBSS intake with 90mm tb, 1-7/8" headers, custom exhaust. Goal is 420-430 at the wheels through the T56. Should be a fun and reliable driver that can maybe tow the Z28 to the track someday.

I should have brought my Jeep out! It would have ran in the 20's...but oh well.

Nice Bird Amber. Welcome to the site.

Well, since we're running heavy slow things, I'd like to show up and get some baseline numbers in. I've never been to PIR. My goal is to get my truck into the 11's some day.

How much does it cost to do some runs? How fast can I go before I require roll cages and all that?

Well my friend Tim (SalvageZ28) just picked up a 03 RCSB and he ran his the same night I ran mine. I his best was a 15.4, bone stock.

I haven't checked out NHRA rules lately but the last I hear was that you would have to run quicker than an 11.4 before requiring a roll cage.

I'll post up here if I make it out there again once I get the gears and 6sp installed.

Awesome. Thank you.

I've never been to the track, but using a g-tech and and a dyno app on my iphone, I ran a 16.15 mostly stock. There's a tune and shorty headers, but I'm AWD RCSB. I'm right on the brink of installing my nitrous kit. So I'll run again and see what I get.

13.99 and quicker you will need a helmet.
11.49 to 10.00 you will need a roll bar, 5 point harness, and some other safety items I don't remember without looking up.
9.99 to 8.00 you will need a roll cage, competition license, parachute, and even more safety equipment.

Sweet! As long as I stay in the 12's or just taste the 11's, I'll be good. Thanks man!

Yeah I'm sure I'll have it out there again. I'm going to install the gears and posi before doing the T56 and it would be cool to see what those alone get me. I'm gonna guess maybe 3 or 4 tenths.
