You have any real world pics of the 98 pilot car? Like detailed photos of the headlights and differences in the hood fitment and such. More detailed photos might help. The photos you have for it I have had saved on my computer for years.

He's got a stock front end/lights on the vehicle. We put the front end back to stock before Bob bought it. The hood is production as well.

I haven't really been trying since the first go-round, Joshua.

Can you blame me?

No, you've gone through emotional hell lately. I can only imagine. I'm sure the last thing on your mind was dropping one of the cars, even if you wanted to. Hopefully some breathing room opened up so you won't rush on getting a sale. The car(s) will sell someday at what they deserve.

The fixed headlights were about half the height of the pop-ups, so the prototype hood extended forward to meet them. That's the main difference. Only three handmade prototype hoods were made for use on six prototype cars: 3 Formulas and 3 T/As.
My car is the one in the pics everyone has saved on their computers.

The prototype hood was taller than the production hood and the '98 prototype hood had about 3" more material in the headlamp area to accomodate the encapsulated headlamps.

I love that sentence. That's a statement that packs some gravity... powerful.

Funny story about your red Hawk. After seeing the new LS1s and specifically that Firehawk, I had put a deposit down for a navy blue Formula Firehawk in early 98. Then the GM strike happened, and the dealership called to say that they probably wouldn't be able to build it. I got my deposit back, but still wanted a Formula. There were only three 6-speed Formulas in the state of Texas at the time, I had to drive 5 hrs away to pick up my first LS1.

I really wanted a Formula Firehawk with those headlights!
