I'd say the interior is better, I think it looks better (subjective), it's faster both in a straight line and around a track, the suspension is supposed to be significantly better... it's just a great car.

This is pretty much dead on, you can only argue how nice an interior is to a point... but I would hope a car that is brand new has a nicer looking interior than a car made nearly 6 years ago... wow I still cannot believe a 2006 model year vehicle is almost 6 years old... I still think a 2000-something is brand new.

Anyways, the GTO's interior ain't bad but the 5.0's gauges suck big time. Everything else is pretty decent. 1/4 mile performance is pretty comparable but yeah the GTO will get stranded on a road course. Just saying.

Do some research man. If you're into the car mags, check out the recent Motor Trend where they pit the new Mustang against an M3 and it didn't do too badly at all; not too many rides in the States can pull that off...

ballast the c5 Z06 to weight the same like most racing series do, and the Z is not any faster. of course a 3180lb c5 Z06 is faster than a 3500-3700 lb 4 passenger mustang.


the mustang IS faster stock for stock when carrying 3 passengers.

Id actually like to see Top Gear put a new 5.0 around their course and then compare it to the Monaro they ran. I bet it would be closer than you guys think.

those who dont see it arent worth discussing it with. all of the C5's and C6's are far faster. period. even a non Z c5 on the round track would probably be faster than a 2011GT.
