Default Killed A 2011 Mustang 5.0

I went to the 1/8 th mi. local strip to get a few pics for a powerpoint presentation. I was staged against a new 2011 5.0. This was my first time ever at a strip. Burned rubber most of the way even with 05 Drag radials and had to let off the accelerator in 1st gear. Then I missed 3rd gear. With all of the bad driving, he never got closer than 2 car lengths. 5.7L LS6, MS3 Cam, 411 Wave-trac rear, 90mm throttlebody and 90mm Fast intake, LS6 Heads with 57cc and 12 to 1 compression, SLP Headers and Cats. Tuned by Bluecat, the MS3 was very forgiving, ramped up very fast, pulled power beyond 6500 rpm.

Nice kill. Just got back from the track a few minutes ago. There was a 5.0 with bolt ons and a 125 shot running 10.70 @ 124. Tons of f bodies and stangs there. Get your driving nailed down and don't worry about those pesky 5.0's with that setup you have.

you know what I found the most surprising when I go to the track and see these new 5.0's running great times? It's not the look on the camaro clubs faces when they see a basic bolton naturally aspirated pony car running stout times: it's the worried look on all the mustang owners faces. Especially the supercharged crowd that is running near or at the same times as a bolton/tune 5.0 does. I **** you not, every one of the guys that has dropped serious coin on mods on there older stangs get that worried "oh **** I bettter mod up more" look. The stock to basic mods mustang guys, to a man, talk about trading there cars in on one. lol

what shitstorm?? basically cam only ls6 (even in fbody) beat a new 5.0... seems pretty reasonable to me.....

I think i can put 2 cars or even more on my intake/hypertech 02 z06 on a new 5.0 without a problem in the 1/8th... with proper traction that is...

No not butt hurt..Just stating obvious..

Would be like me saying i beat a camaro ss that was bone stock with my mods now. I should beat it...

5.0 are not unbeatable. I lost in mine when i was a lot less mods. It was to a ZO6 at track. He had some mods and admitted he couldnt drive it that well and still beat me 2/3 times. He spun a little one time and i beat him...I am so counting it as a kill...lol

OP, good kill. Must've been the nerves getting to you the first time down the track. I missed 4th my first pass ever, so I know the feeling. :/

You're right, 12:1 CR, 57cc LS6 heads, pretty decent sized cam, and ported FAST with matching throttle body is basically just cam only. Sorry man, that's what you call a H/C/I setup. He got the win in the end, so all else doesn't really matter.

lol..whats funny this is true to a point. All the guys i know with older mustangs be it a GT/cobra are like what the ****. I have to do this and this and this now.

Most the new camaro guys here look a bit confused why their full bolt ons camaro is only running mid 12s.
