Of course it is. But its only a SS option. My 2000 SS M6 had the SLP dual/dual. That car ran strong for bone stock aside from a lid with a paper filter. It out ran a few other stock LS1s and even a couple bolt on auto LS1s. I ran a few Machs and 99/01 Cobras on the street and put them away with ease..also my car is a 2000 so that was with a LS1 intake and these were 01-02 cars.

Here's a older '99 Cobra vs A4 LS1 from a 10 roll...both stock. I think the Mach's might be a little faster up top than the 99-01 Cobra's??? someone correct me if im wrong its been a while.

A MACH runs harder than a 99 Cobra. Here is a run I had with an 01 Cobra. Similar mods but I had 4.10s. To make it fair, on the first 3 races I started in 3rd and him in second. Me in 2nd was much different.

Should... of course the weight difference between a low optioned z28 and an optioned SS. All variables... which is why I never declare one faster than the other.

As far as I'm aware a z28 could not be optioned with a lid/car back from the factory only the SS cars.

Realistically most LS1 Z28s were well optioned. You could get a hardtop cloth SS too. Even then weight difference HT to T Top is maybe 20lbs? I've read manual windows weigh within 1lb of electric. My SS weight 3450 with a little over half a tank and some tools in the back. It was fully optioned black leather t tops. TCS power everything etc.

Mine had the exhaust. I had all the SLP options except the chrome wheels. I ordered it. The black wing lid didn't start till 01. The SLP suspension upgrades and wider tires should've been worth a little et also.

No Z28's had those options.

My car weighed 3430 stock ht car. Title says 3382 but I assume that's dry.

I'm not saying there was a great weight difference... Mine was 3440 full weight (full tank, tire/jack in place, etc). I've seen several 50-100lbs heavier with others hitting 3600 lbs (verts). Low optioned cars (1SC?) can get into the upper 3300s even, toss in the randomness of engine output (I made 324/341 with only FRA) and the results are just too crazy to predict.

You didn't correct me, i was just stating no one cares about what a 2v runs. Completely off topic. Hell a stock civic SI with a tire can run high 13s. Who cares? No one.

A few have went 12.9.

Great example. Gears definitely make a nice difference with 4v's.

Yes Hio...I had 4.10s and he had 3.27s..so that is why I started in 3rd with him in 2nd. The gears played a role in the race, no doubt but the MACH does have the C-heads as well as different cam specs. Our Hp numbers were close but there was big difference in our torque numbers..MACH at 338ft/lbs and the Cobra at 312.

I don't think it was torque, it was just better gearing on your part. 20ftlbs of torque is not going to make THAT much of a difference from a roll race. Especially if you peak 20 ftlbs at a certain point in your powerband that's irrelevant in a roll race.

As a follow up..he did end up getting 4.10s and we ran again coming home from TNT at a local track. He had one passenger I had none and I still pulled him pretty hard.
He now has a 150 shot so I think I will get my *** handed to me..LOL

Edit: since then, I put on a Off Road X, SPEC II Clutch and SPEC Aluminum FW. Eventually, we will try again
