I wouldn't declare an M6 is faster than a tuned automatic, which mine was. Now its stalled too, which is a different deal, but yea...m6 vs auto is very subjective.

I wasn't compairing it to a tuned one I was comparing a stock one. But yes once it is tuned and stalled it is faster and more consistant then an m6

I agree, well when comparing it to a ls1. It needs FI just like a lot of other cars but nothing wrong with that.

Don't think that the capability of a 4.6L to make power NA is the problem. It is an air pump like any other engine. I think it is more that the performance aftermarket along with Ford Racing & SVT chose to push the FI route for making power on these motors. Small displacement, high rpms and overhead cams seems to just work well with FI. Gains of anywhere between 80 to 120Hp can be achieved and most kits were just bolt-on and tune (not getting into the motor).
Nothing wrong with this approach it is just different than what most people were accustomed to with installing a cam with a set of good flowing heads much like imports uses 4 cylinders with a turbo. I just think it was more about bang for the buck than anything else and working with what you have. Not saying one is better, it is just different and dependent on personal preference of making power.

I agree with everything you posted. That's why I stated it needs FI. Ls1's is far to simple to make good power all motor. Comparing a NA 4.6 to a ls1 is funny. Stock for stock they can run with a ls1 but the advantage mod for mod the ls1 will take the win.

Not really stock for stock machs are low low 100 mph cars. Ive seen normal healthy running LS1 cars go 104-107ish

They can run low to mid 13s. The 99 cobra I had seem more like a high 13 low 14 if anything.
