Mach at the track

The debate isn't about if the LS6 can make 800whp with 16-18#, but wether can it do it with a 2.3L blower and stock long block. The answer is No.

I'm going to have to agree with you. Sure a bone stock block could handle a couple pulls, but it's just a ticking time bomb waiting to blow. Most everyone that runs a stock bottom end at least will put in some arp head studs and rod bolts so it no longer is truly a stock longblock.

No idea on the 2.3L.

i think a fair comparison is a 2013 GT500 engine vs a Ls1/ls6 is fair. same cubic inches roughly. surely with and otherwise stock long block as LS1/LS6 can make 662 stock hp. it just needs a blower.
be nice if someone upgraded rods/pistons ONLY in a ls1/ls6 and added boost.
who here thinks a boosted stock ls6 will make more power than a LSA?

I'm on another website that has two races a year. It's some of the fastest street cars in NC that show up (SC, TN, and Va also), it's called Dragging Rights. There are several guys on there that are heavy into photography that take pictures of the cars. That picture was taken by one of them at Fayetteville Dragging Rights a couple of years ago.
If you ever decide to leave your local tracks and come race with us at a Dragging Rights, I'm sure that you will get some high quality shots of your car.
I didn't mean to ignore your question, I was going to respond to it when I got home and post a few more pictures from a couple of past Dragging Rights.

A few things to consider though. The 6.2L LSA uses the 1.9L blower at 9lbs, GT500 the larger 2.3 Eaton @ a whopping 15lbs. Huge difference.

I can say my 5.0 modular forged motor would make near 700whp on 10 psi through a novi 2200. Thats with the boss intake. Prob hit 700 with the cobra jet. My motor is also 11:1 and makes a good bit of power without boost. With the exception of the ls7... i dont think any stock longblock would make that power on 10lbs. Unless its turbo...but i too would make more with a turbo setup.

thats cammed with 4 extra lbs lol. Id be curious to see a stock longblock ls3 on 10psi and what it would make

Can't find any apples to apple's comparison, but if I had to guess, I'd say that same LS3 minus the cam and on 10lbs would probably put out roughly in the mid to high 6XX range, right where your car would be.

The next one is in June at Piedmont. It will be the first one at a 1/8 mile track and the first one that far north. In the past they have been at Fayetteville and at Rockingham, which up until this year everybody has been cool with, but this past Dragging Rights at Rockingham the track sucked and it was like the people running the track didn't care to try and make it better. Piedmont is supposed to be a great hooking track, so they decided to try them out and see how it works with it being a 1/8 mile track. Some have said that they aren't going to the next one because it's only 1/8 mile, so I suspect attendance will be down.
If that's too far or you don't like 1/8th mile, they will more than likely have the fall Dragging Rights at Fayetteville.

These augments are getting ridiculous. There is more to the story than peak hp and boost pressure alone. Air volume, timing, fuel, dyno curve, lag, drivetrain lose, reliability, drivability. Sure you can run both cars with some similarities, but there are still many variables that make these types of comparisons difficult to draw judgment especially when you got some glory dyno numbers thrown around without detail surrounding those variables that make a street driven car.
At the end of the day a modular ford and a pushrod gm can make great power when boost is done right.......and talking about crate ls6's is gay.
