i hate to admit this but im with stoppy, id take the man feeling hard clutch over the gm hydrulics that dont shift at high rpm. the fingers can flex all they want and it will still engage with cable. it has more travel than the gm ****. id take cable if i had a choice.

I preferred my Mustangs' clutches over the clutch in mom's old Vette, but I preferred the hydraulic system in the S2000 over either of them. Gearbox/clutch has always seemed like an afterthought in F-bodies/Corvettes/Mustangs until recently (with the Mustang and Corvette, obviously).

Well not really....but kinda. IDK what it takes to do a cable right. The real problem begins with modding the cable to use on good clutches. I guess most people just buy what fits. I usually don't. When I do I usually mod it to work how I want. Now with that said your never gonna run a clutch like I have in my Camaro off a cable. Pedal effort would be ridiculous, pedal effort in the notch with a lightened spec clutch is ridiculous now.
I wish I woulda put a blow proof on the notch while it was apart. With these couple of recent spec failures on here it makes me nervous for my legs.
I might as well leave this here too. Still working on the details.

My 11sec 131+mph car is doin something yours is not.......and that's goin over 108mph in the 1/4.
Those Mustangs would be working properly to me if they could do 1+g in a turn. But as they sit they're just drag cars.....no big deal.

I'm not really a Ford hater as far as their cars go. I have not been in their new trucks but their older trucks were poop, I did hate them....anything pre- ecoboost/5.0/6.2. I just know the differences in the 2 makes. When I see bs on here I call it......the Ford guys don't like it.
Just like Stoppy thinking a cable is better than hydraulic....he don't have a clue. Heater may not have a clue on that either.
Just wait till my Ford outruns theirs....that really gonna make ya'lls head spin.....lmao So MachX......Do you think I'll here all the **** about motor swap, light clutch....blah blah blah blah when that happens?
Now you see where the haters are? If you noticed they have never said **** about this swap yet.

I understand why Hio thinks the hydraulic is the way to go. It can be versatile and it does allow you are run clutches with more static pressure while having low pedal effort. Also you can run a line loc on it to use for drag racing (why hydraulic is not allowed is some stick shift class racing).
My approach for my Foxbody is the K.I.S.S method and a cable fits what I do with my car. The ease, cheapness and adjustability is what I take over hassling with hydraulics.
If you hate the way your clutch feels in your Fox, you can either go with a nice twin disc clutch like the McLeod RXT or you can buy a hydraulic conversion kit for it from McLeod and convert it.
The McLeod RXT is what I'm putting in my Cobra when the Dual Friction finally eats it.
But don't listen to me, I probably have no idea what I'm talking about.

The hydraulic conversion sounds interesting. But very $$$. For now the cable will have to do. But I would like a blow proof on it for now.
So does dad's 70 1/2 Z28. I don't remember it being to bad. But it has been many years since I drove it......or since it has even ran for that matter.

hiho, your hydrulic **** has no adjustment. i never said anywhere the hydrulics were to blame just said they were junk. i prefer cable over hydro. plenty of fords out there shifting over 6800 without issue. how ever id never own another ford engine.
