You think an estimate of 4" isn't accurate? If the oil filter of the 5.0 is ~2" off the floor, the height difference at the top of the valve covers looks like about 4" to me...

Moral of the story; if the DOHC 4.6 is *almost* as large as a big block, and the new 5.0 is 2" shallower/thinner and almost 3" shorter than the 4.6...then the 5.0 isn't actually anywhere near as large as a big block.

The moral of the story is the 4.6 is larger than a big block and the 5.0 is also. They are very large engines. The pics don't lie. I would have to say a hemi like the one pictured is larger than say a BBC.

I put a stroked 440 in a challenger over the summer for a guy. The 440 was smaller than the 4.6. You may not like that but it's true.

Putting the price of motors aside, bored and stroked n/a Ford 5.4L can compare to built n/a LS7's. We're talking 700-800hp n/a on pump gas. Mod motors are more expensive though. But the Ford mod motor is doing it at 6.1L and not 7.0+.

So your point s what......It takes a built stroked 5.4 to do what a stock or cam only ls7 can do? I would also say your talking out your *** on the pump gas part. You're starting to show your inexperience.

You like them so well go buy one and build it. That's where **** gets real. All these guys on here yakkin have not did that yet. Put you money where your mouth is.

Auto showed he couldn't. He jumped ship on that pos n/a 4.6 he was building........He was gonna wear me out with it too. So far his boosted 5.4 has yet to wear me out. That's the proof I see.

I know you're not talking about the current car.

It can be done when you take the furd out of the ford. You and others have proved that.

You got me there.....I fucked up. .....not that I really care.

I know.....it's hard hooking up a 16sec ride. When I ran my stock 2500hd it spun through the 1/8.....ran a 16.1 @ 86 mph. It was all I could do to keep it on the track.

My daily runs 11.0@ 131 at the track. It has got a best of 29.1 mpg on the highway and routinely does better than 27mpg on the highway. ooohhhh.....and it was not made "overseas"

Personally I was never that impressed with a 302 and I see know reason why a 305 can not run with a 302.......and none of you offer a reason why it can't. All you offer is more rhetoric.

BTW......where did I say 85hp from a cam swap????? Twist **** much?
Any mods to the 2500HD? I have a 2003 Sierra 2500HD (ECSB) and was thinking about taking it to lebanon, haha.

Yes I'm talking about E85 pump gas. You are showing your inexperience and lack of knowledge Hio by not knowing what these other engines are capable of. My point is you have no understanding of what those 5.4L modular's can do. That's why you argue about it. I like all different kinds, brands and types of engines. That's why I can care less how any other engine stacks up to an LSx.

As long as everyone is happy in the end, that is what really matters.

Your wanting to compare a 5.4L to the ls1...

Stop tryn to twist **** and stop crying.... be a man and take it. That 5.4L is comparable to the ls7.

But because you wanna twist **** and make comparisons that shouldn't be compared im still waiting on you to tell me how great the 5.4L is compared to the 572?

It's even funnier that you don't see the correlation between displacement and potential HP.

Not starting an argument. What's wrong with comparing the 5.4L modular to the 5.7L LS1?
Btw, I'm not a Ford guy. I'm just a car guy with no loyalty to a certain brand.
