Chevy Corvette Helps Bust Crooks Who Stole Acura NSX

By -

Who would’ve thought that by racing an Acura, the Corvette would uncover a massive auto theft ring from the South?

There’s one thing that all crooks have in common: they’re dumb. Sure, many of them can pull off daring schemes, brave getaways, and even clever robberies. But in the end, it’s the dumbest things that always get them caught.

Want proof of that? Check out these video clips posted to Facebook by CBS4 News. The grainy video was shot by a witness with their cell phone, but the footage shows a red C7 Corvette (most likely Z06) line up against an equally red Acura NSX.

After a terrible start on the Acura’s behalf, the Corvette cruises to an easy victory. Heck, even with a good launch, the Acura would’ve succumbed to the Corvette’s all-American horsepower. After the video made its rounds through the Internet, people from El Paso, Texas, noticed something fishy about the red NSX.

The news outlet reports that a skilled group of thieves had recently stolen a red Acura NSX, a Dodge Hellcat, a Nissan Pathfinder, Ford F-150, and an Acura MDX from local dealerships. While the report doesn’t specify which methods were used to steal each vehicle, they highlight that several were simply driven away from the dealers after convincing employees they’d “wire the payment” and showing fraudulent documents proving “deep pockets.”

The videos eventually landed in the hands of law enforcement, and all crooks were arrested. And just like that, the Chevy Corvette saved the day!
