if u decide to cut the middle of the frame all the way out. make sure weld braces to the frame. the frame likes to spread in the front. and also when u add the tube, make sure u use some gussets on the tube.

Thats what I have to do when I pull the motor and trans in and out. Not really all that difficult.

cut a hole in the floor. their was a beehive in the box that was probably collecting water and rusting over time. I dug it out, welded the nut back to the box and the bolt came right out. Jacked it up and got the motor/tranny right in. I have to fix a small hole in the cab mount box and put new bushings in..i sort of wanted to do new bushings anyway though so its not that bad.

I'm looking to buy some headers for my rig. I was thinking of going with the JBA GTO LS1 shorty headers to keep it smog legal. The tubes are supposed to be 1 5/8". Anybody have any experience fitting similar headers in an S10? Worse comes to worse I can have a guy in town cut, re-weld flanges, etc to make them fit.

Thumbs up i found the right oil pan for the swap

just got done mocking everything up and my 08 hummer H3 oil pan clears with no cutting but whent ahead and cut a 1/2 deep and 8 inch across just to be safe. The bottom of the oil pan is level with the bottom of the crossmember too, its almost like it was made for this swap and at just under $200 you can't beat it

pictures and details? A lot of guys are having problems with this pan hanging below the crossmember. Do you have the front clip on the truck? Does it look like the hood is going to clear?

Thats how the Fbody pan fits in ours (height wise) It may be slightly lower than the crossmember. But it did require the notching of the crossmember.

The h3 pan fits extremely close, almost touches. I just raise the trans up 1" with an aluminum spacer for additional clearence.

New owner of a LS1 s10. Its an 89 with 2000ls1 LTs t56 and a cal-trac'd 9in 3.55. Took her to the track today. Made like 20 passes in it. I could only best a 8.33

With a 28x10 hoosier leaving at 2500 she would only do a 2.0 60ft
Gonna take the 3rd member out and put a mini spool and some 4.11s. The stock p-trac crapped out on me by the end of the day
Ill take some more detailed pics later on
