I have a Tahoe engine and am using factory tahoe upper and lower hoses. Both will need some trimming but work well.

Has anyone tried the TSP 1.875" Longtubes for 4th Gen Fbody with a powerglide and the 1" set back mounts???

Plan on running a Vic Jr or SuperVictor Intake as well. (Car Has a pretty high cowl hood)

Shooting for 10.50-10.00 ET's on a LQ9 with heads/Cam/Intake and headers all on the stock bottom end.

What kind of mileage are you guys getting from these swaps? I need to get something that can do better than my truck's 15-17 mpg, but can't quite stomach the notion of getting a 4cyl.

Has anyone here used the Dorman 576354 replacement efi fuel tank instead of the Spectra GM307C that has the venting issues?

Hey guys I have 85 monte ss and with the adapter plates and using old clamshell mounts will victor jr fit under stock hood? I have blown budget and do not want to buy cowl hood. I love the stealth look. I know stock truck alternator will clear. I need to know before I buy vic jr on go with the lower performer rpm.

I have an '86 MCSS with 'XH' 12:1 steering box from ILE 4th gen camaro. I'd like to swap in a LQ9 from a Esclade. Does it matter what year I get it from. Wondering about the DBW etc... I know I need the computer, wiring harness and all sensors.
I have a 2 1/2" cowl induction hood, will the truck intake or accessory drive system have a problem. I read many problems about the alt and steering box clearance. I'd like to keep the heater box and ac compressor. Ultimately I'm adding boost (reason for swap really) so I'm just wondering what to start with? Could it be better to start with f-body stuff if I'm gunna need to change over the accessory drive system anyway? Is there anyone who is running a procharger with the truck accessories? I thing the LQ9 has pretty good internals to get me started with a cam swap and 10-12 # boost (LQ9 build to come as the LS swap and power adder will drain the wallet for a while)

Well that's enough for now, thanks in advance for your help and glad to find much needed ls info.

Tom

I'm putting in a lq4 in my regal and I want to keep the 700r4 where it is so my question is what is the part number for the trans dapt mounts(I would use the 1" setback correct), I'm keeping it FI so I need some kind of bracket for the TV cable on the 700r4 how make something for that purpose?

Thanks, Dee

I was cruising through this forum the other day, saw a thread by a guy who was putting a truck engine in (I think) a G body. Trying to find the thread- One feature was the guy had fiberglassed and smoothed the truck intake for appearance sake. Anyone know of the thread I'm looking for?

Thanks in advance

Default Spohn motor mounts

I got a 1979 Monte Carlo and I'm swapping a 2001 TA ls1 into it. The problem I am having is with the motor mounts. I bought spohn motor mounts and when I bolted them to the frame only two holes lined up correctly. Now when I try to sit my engine in it seems like the mounts are a half inch too far back and I can't get the engine to sit back inside them. With the mounts being in that position I can't get the engine to sit lower because the motor mounts and the frame mounts hit each other. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what are the solution.... I would hate to waste the 100 dollars I spent on them!!!

Default Spohn

I haven't got a chance to flip them yet but I will get some pics of it this weekend. I only have time on the weekend to work on it and my car is at a friends shop.

Got a list of 5.3L I plan to go look at this weekend, weather permitting.

Wondering what trans I should go with. Which are you guys liking in your gbody swap?

4l80e is my #1 choice. just have to shorten drive shaft.

Anyone using 4l60e/4l65e

Daily/weekend car. No track, all stock plans.

Later Heads and Camp. So maybe 4l60e will handle power and last pretty good.
