Yes -- the stock bracket does not work with any y-pipe

Someone brought this up and Sean reiterated. If you want some sort of support for the Y pipe, mine feels pretty sturdy but that added reassurance is nice http://www.mufflex-performance.com/9...pter/61-y.html

I managed to re-use the stock bracket but only with one bolt on each end and have it positioned on an angle just to support the ypipe for now. I am going to go with the mufflex type or get hangers welded. I do not feel comfortable having all of that weight being supported by the engine block.

I feel ya.

I couldn't use one of the supplied clamps on the Y to catback section and we just threw a U clamp on for the time being. It was kinda unstable but stupid us in a rush could of used the stock clamp.

Slapped that on with the other clamp still on and it tightened up a lot more.

Maybe if you wanna add another clamp on that spot for some more support it helped a lot for me. An impact gun helped a ton too!

Just remember it's also being supported from the hanger on the over-axle pipe. The SE y-pipe also weighs much less than the OE setup with cats. Also, the Mufflex hanger was intended to help with banging, not support. So long as one upgrades to poly mounts then it's not necessary for anything more than peace of mind.

Just some food for thought

How long does it normally take for the headers to ship once the order is placed? Ordered mine last Friday and I thought these were in stock. Thanks.

Orders ship the same day or next business day. Both 1 3/4" & 1 7/8" are in stock. I believe you sent us an email this morning we answered as well.

Thanks
Sean

Got my 1 7/8 installed great design and fit easily. I cut off the collectors and welded in some velocity spikes and a merge collector. So now I have a badass set of headers for under $400.

I'm just going to run some bullet mufflers with turndowns off the collectors I hope I don't have as much trouble with the driver side clearance as i am hearing about.

That's cool.... My old race car had headers with only 18" extension pipe @3.5". Try this...face your 'turn downs' at 45 degree towards each other. It sounds cool and blows oil (somewhat) toward center of car ( in the event of a "let-go") instead of on the tires.

The bracket just did not bolt up, but fit like a glove to my catted arh u-pipe. I did however pay dearly for the fit..

I dont know why everyone else is having issues. Mine bolted right up. Had to jack the engine up on one side but they look amazing and sound phenomenal. Where else can you get a set of quality headers like this for cheap? Nowhere

Finally got mine on. Passenger side went on perfect driver side however was a different story. The header wouldn't even fit without shaving off some of the bellhousing on my trans and then I had to hammer it up with a piece of wood and a hammer.
