I have the street heat stage 2. So far I have got a 12.23 @ 108 out of it at the track. Drives like a stock cam. Heading to the dyno this Friday for some more tuning.

Excellent! Thanks! Do you mind sharing a few more details about the setup?

It pulls strong and feels great, i'm very pleased with this cam so far and can't wait to see what it does with a full street/dyno tune. Thanks Martin!
No problem! That is the goal with the SNS Stage 2!

The "philosphy" behind the Street Heat cams are to drive like stock, not lose any torque under the curve to the stock cam, with big gains above 4500-5000rpm.

The SNS cams were meant for torque under the curve, and a mean choppy idle to go with it while not sacrificing top end for added low end.

I think you have a lot left in your car. I have a customer with the same cam, stock 243 heads, stock LS6 intake, 370 with 10.3:1 compression and it went 11.5@116 with a 1.60 60'@3550lbs. 3.23 gear and a 3600 stall.

Sounds good! I bet all that torque will work great on a 4WD too.

It is a TQ ****, with the 3000 stall, 4L80 and 4.88 gears it moves along pretty good. I'm going to do some custom ladder bars for the rear it squats pretty good. @70 mph and 2500rpm stall locked it doesn't miss a beat on steep hills. I might redo the exhaust to a dual 3 inch from the Y back. Can't make my mind up on it yet.

Martin do you have any other dyno graphs of sock cube ls1's running prc 5.3 heads and your sns stage 2 cam 227/235? Also a lot of people in my town are running prc stage 1 ls6 heads and ms3 cams how do you personally think the set up mentioned above would do against them at the track or on the street with similar supporting mods and legit tunes?

Just got back from the dyno. Started at 353p, 363 tq, ended at 374hp, 379tq. This was on a mustang dyno.

I take it that you're enjoying the torquemax power!

Can't wait to see what it puts down, should be a strong runner.

The only one I have as of this time is Stroked383HSR that you've seen already in here. Very nice flat torque curve. The LS6 heads will make more power from what I have seen out of the PRC stock casting heads.

I would say against those MS3 equipped cars that as long as you weren't roll racing above 100-120mph you should be able to jump out in front of them instantly and pull them enough cars to where as long as you don't exceed 100-120mph during the race, they won't be able to make that ground back up.

The great thing about the SNS Stage 2 is that it will jump out in front of the larger cams, but keep them at your rear bumper long enough for the race to be over at the top of 3rd. It having the overlap that it does allows it to pull to 7000rpm in a situation like this and keep a bigger cam car behind it.

Those are nice numbers on a Mustang Dyno for a A4!!!

I think you will be solidly in the 11's now that it's been dyno tuned.

It is a custom cam for a LS2 with 11.2:1 compression, TFS 225cc CNC heads, Fast 102, 4000 stall in a 3rd gen Camaro.

It is replacing a 239/246 112+3 camshaft so it will be very interesting to see how much power is lost going to the smaller camshaft. Hunter wanted better drivability and more torque than his larger cam was giving him along with hopefully a MPG increase.

I think so too, even in the heat. If I go back a couple steps it previously ran 12.39 in drive, 12.29 manually shifting. A tenth difference between me shifting and the car shifting. Added a lid and went 12.23 in drive. That was on a race day but with no other changes picked up .16 (in drive), similar atmospheric conditions. Apply the same logic and if I was manually shifting it (should) have went 12.07 ish.

What we found was the shift points were both set at 6450 but the 1-2 was happening so fast in the trans there was virtually no delay and it was actually shifting 5900 at the track then 6400 or so for 2-3. We had to raise the 1-2 shift point in the program to get the 1-2 shifting at 6300 or so.

So now the difference between the car and me shifting should be a lot closer. I'm bracket racing mostly in Street 12.00 and slower so I am right at the sweet spot I set out to be. Thanks to Martin and Tick Performance.

I would honestly shift your engine at 6600-6800rpm for best E.T. and MPH. The EVO it has really carries the torque curve out past peak torque for a long flat horsepower curve after peak power.

I would bump the 1-2 up to at least 6500 and the 2-3 at 6600-6700 so your shift extension starts its recovery at a higher rpm for maximum acceleration in 3rd gear.

I know it has at least a 113ish mph trap speed in the heat in it shifting it where it needs to be shifted at and making the power it should like it is now. I could be wrong depending on where you live though and the DA that you normally race at.

We're spoiled with good air, just not when it's this time of year that's for sure. The air is so thick you can cut it with a spoon.

Roger that. The track altitude is 1200 ft but DA is usually higher. I think lowest I seen it last year was 500 or so.

Rev limiter is set at 6700 so for now ill stick with what the shift points are for now. Yesterday was a rainout at the track but I expect to now be right at 12 flat. That is perfect for now. The girlfriend is just getting comfortable behind the wheel. Always have the need for speed so ill keep tweaking in between racing. Tks for the input martin.
