Training days are long and painfull at times with the amount of study and hard work needed just to get by, but the flying is awesome, and if all continues to go well, I'll get my wings at the end of April.

Top 10 reasons why these tires won't work?
1. There Nittos
2. Theres NO sidewall
3. You have to run to much air pressure in them
4. They are a roll race tire if anything
5. They will be on back order forever
6. They will never go on your car
7. You will never drive your car
8. You will never race your car
9. They cost to much money
10. They are overpriced, m/t copying, no sidewall having, roll racing bs, pos tires!!!

Ya I agree with Joe, Nittos suck. Thats the last tire I would consider if I had your power level, Nick. Your not going use the RX-7 for a daily are you?

It'll all be worth it in the end though I'm sure! So will that be all of your training then, or will there be more after that?

I thought about you on Friday. I flew my friends dad's 2005 Beechcraft Bonanza for about half an hour on the way to Knoxville, TN.

^ I flew a low level (500 ft) flight near Chatanooga on Thursday (small world).

Unfortunatly that won't be the end of my training. That will just be the end of my initial pilot training where I will get my wings and officially become an Air Force Pilot. From there I will get 3 weeks off and then start training in Oklahoma where I will learn to fly the KC-135 I will fly back in Indiana at Grissom. I'll finish up in Oklahoma sometime in October, then I'll be back home for good (until I leave on missions and deployments).

You are a lucky one. Just wish my eyes weren't bad or else I would be flying something.

Is that a weak point on the rear girdle for the RX-7?

That's a Dana out of a C4 Vette that is getting swapped into my RX7. It was cut/narrowed to fit by me, and Matt's Dad did some beautiful welding/filling to make it look like you see here. The additional metal is to tie it together where it was cut.

Thanks for the pics sir, I took some, but I've been slacking at getting them online.

Anybody know what the Fuel Psi should be on a 92 park avenue non S.C.? Need some ideas where to check to get this car running right.

symptoms- Runs great for about 10 minutes, then acts like its not getting fuel, or timing is off. Car will act like it wants to start but then will not. If car sets for a few hours it will fire right up.

Sidenote- I've ran this car really low on fuel about 100 times since i've owned it. Usually it bogs down when going around corners. Fuel gauge is off by 1/4 tank. I'm sure that didn't help prolong the life of the fuel pump.

Parts that are new=

ignition module- burned out 2 cylinders last fall.

"magnavox" coil assembly- pulled out terminals when replacing plug wires last week.

Plug wires- chipmunk decided to chew through plug wires and leave left hot side of wiring laying on Alternator.

Alternator- Due to chipmunk chewing on plug wires and arcing through alternator.

Fuel filter- replaced last LOF.

did some research and found that it could be cam or crank sensor. Anybody have any experience with these motors and sensors? 3800's?

2800/3100/3400/3500 motors have no relationship to the vastly less shitty 3800s.

Luke. PSI should be around 42-45, but as long as it's around 40 you should be fine.

Cam sensor will not stop the engine from running. I've seen them started and driven without them. Crank sensor will 100% stop it from starting though. Typically the sensor is fine, but the harness gets damaged.

I know on the supercharged SII 3800 motors (and I believe the N/A SII) the harness for the crank sensor runs through a plastic routing deal that circles the top of the crank pulley and is a MAJOR PITA to reach. That's worth checking. Do you have access to a scanner (or does the car have a tach)? If the RPMs move when you crank (assuming the gauges stay on) the crank sensor is fine.

I knew that. 60 degree v6 and 90 degree v6. You also forgot the 3900 v6 which is apart of the 3xxx family.

I agree it sounds like a crank sensor, but its hard to give you an accurate diag without seeing the car. Does the vehicle have a tach? do you have a scanner so you can see the datastream values or PID's?

I've seen 3800 ckp sensors fail when they get warm and I've seen a bunch of the wiring connectors fail, you will notice the engine cut out when you wiggle the connector, the connector is beside the harmonic balancer (right side)

One way you could rule out a fuel issue is to give the engine a false fuel source when its not running, try spraying brake clean into the throttle body during the cranking no start, if it starts and dies then you know its a fuel delivery issue, if it doesn't change anything then its most likely not the problem

You can also ground a plug on something and have someone crank while you watch for spark. Easy-peasy.
