I have to admit Im getting pretty excited about the track opening up. Its so close you can taste it. Hopefully with all the VHT they say they sprayed we might run some good times.....maybe somebody can get a new personal best and you guys with new set-ups or stock stuff can get a good baseline.

The Strongs live around the block and they have several old hot rods. They have been out ther plating around and say there is a pretty good pad set already. They also have a IHRA camaro they have made some passes in. I would be haooy with a low 14 with this 5.3. If i get another motor to put in the car i might keep it and see how fast the 5.3 will go on spray being stock lol. I have a few sets of slicks i have rounded up for the s10 but none of them are gunna work for it. If anyone knows someone with a set of 31/14.5 slicks or close to it i need to barrow them just to mock up my backhalf. I wont be running them just useing them to check clearance.

Some of you guys that never went to the track much might squeeze out a new best but for all the rest of us that raced almost every weekend will be no where near a new best with the weather. It will probably be 2500ft corrected alt. on race day and that is a huge difference in ET from the weather we ran in at Monroe in March

Well tonight was a nightmare, I'm pretty sure I burned my engine up in my 78 Bronco.
I'm gonna do a full check tomorrow to find out for sure. If it is really dead then I'm gonna do a full rebuild. Which I'll throughly enjoy. Guess it's a win win situation, lol.

Well I ordered my jegs catback yesterday. It should be here wednesday. Steve, I'll get with ya on those brackets when I see what it looks like. I'm pretty anxious to hear what it's gonna sound like. I know I'm gonna miss the cam with open headers. It makes me
everytime I crank it. But I gotta get it back on the road and the track.

My damn chainsaw doesn't work.
If you have a chainsaw and like to burn stuff while drink beer; please call me.
On a better note, Josh Duet is bringing my engine this evening! I also have something else up my sleeve I'll reveal once I've got the "special" in my hot little hands!

I picked up a set of trick flow CNC 215cc heads! They're filthy and don't have rocker arms, but they're still awesome.
Josh dropped off the engine too. It's time to get to work!

Something interesting and pretty cool IMO:
So my buddy Perry stopped by for a late night cold beer. He used to work at Red River Chevy before they laid him off. Last week one of his ex-coworkers called him up and told him to go to the dealership to check out a "beast." It was a 2010 Camaro with what is effectively an SS/RS trim (Chevy calls it the 2SS) with every option and detail available for order. Okay yeah so "blah blah" but hang on, it gets better:
So the guy taking delivery is some rich **** in Shreveport who showed up at the dealership, looked at the car, sat in it, and then waited for a custom 18-wheeler transport to show up for loading. Perry showed me pics of the whole ordeal on his cell phone. The car's paint is Imperial Blue Metallic (the new version of NBM) and has "ghost" racing stripes that were kinda a flat black/gray color...a stealthy blend-in. The fenders and bumpers still had the baby blue "shipping masks" on them. So anyways Perry inquires as to why the guy is having the car immediately loaded onto this custom rig. He replies with something to the effect of "It's going to a shop in the midwest for a Stroker swap and some other goodies."
Good Lord gentlemen... I'd imagine that if you meet this ****** on the street later this summer, you'll know it when you HEAR it, much less see it. I took note of the rig that is transporting it:

Wonder how much THAT **** costs...
When thinking about it, I'm glad there's someone local carrying on the Camaro's heritage and the dream...and at the same time think to myself "...must be nice."

What time is everyone going Saturday? I would like to go and make some runs to see what it would do but my clutch pedal likes to stay on the floor when I shift it hard...
