Dig to 140mph: LS2 A4 GTO vesus SRT8 Charger
Playing with a SRT8 Charger on the way to the track but due to traffic couldnt get in a run.
So there I am waving at him after he hops into the left turn lane at a red light... or so I thought. With two empty lanes at the light, miles of straight two lane ahead without a single car in sight, he cant resist so he jumps out of line at the turn lane and gets side by side with me. We exchange grins and hand signals to go at the light change.
He gets a slight jump off the line but for naught as I take a one car lead through the intersection! By 60mph I had 2-3 cars: 100 I had 5 cars: 6200rpm in drive I had at least 6 cars on him and tapped the brakes instead of going into overdrive. He slows down with me and gives me a wave out the sunroof as he hangs a U turn and heads back the other direction.
He had a catback exhaust for sure, but I doubt any other mods.

Oh yeah, my brother (IROCDave) was following and witness it- or should I say "instigated it"? I was following him until the SRT8 got ahead of him and he pulled off to the side and signaled me to take the lead.

Don't think I had 5 cars? Funny, my brother who was following our race in his IROC said I had at least 6 cars by 100mph: I disagreed.
lol I ran a 12.9 @ 108mph with a DA somewhere between 1000' and 2000' (Drag Times data for yesterday shows 1000', a Pro Modified guy at the track said the real DA was 2000') about 2 hours after I killed the SRT8.
I was not happy with them times obviously, but 3 SRT8's and 2 R/T's couldnt get within half a second of my 12.9: even the SRT8 and R/T Challenger that were sharing a set of 17" Nitto 05R's. From what I garnered BS'ing with them, only a R/T had full boltons. 2 SRT8's had CAI and tune. No R/T's (event the full bolton one) got out of the 14's, and the SRT8's where 13.5-13.8- at least thats what they ran the dozen plus runs that I witnessed.
Another funny factoid: THREE SRT8's IN A ROW redlighted; all jumped early, spun, trans upshifted and tires caught, bogged, trans stuck between gears for a second than downshifted back into first gear finally and they then took off. I have NO IDEA how they all managed to f**k up in the exact same way, but they did! One ran a 14.8, and the two others ran mid 15's as a result. I wonder if it had anything to do with me commenting on how I had thought a stock SRT8 would be running closer times too me - after a couple guys verified what they had heard from the others about me whooping a SRT8 on the way to the track.

I was at the track hanging out with a guy that had a bone stock SRT-8 Magnum and he was cranking out 13.2-13.3 @ 105-106 mph to my 13.5-13.7 @ 101-102 mph. I think the Chargers and Challengers are about 100 lbs lighter.

i was at the track this sat (will post later) and a G8 was running low 13 all day.
while the handfull of chargers, challengers, etc were mid-high 13.
i love those G8's!

LS1 GTO's are putting down 35-40rwhp less than LS2 GTO's, mod for mod it stays the same. So much for GM rating the LS2 as 50hp higher than the LS1's: more like the LS1 was making more than advertised while the LS2 was more accurate in its rating.
There was a G8 GT at the track. His friends said he was bummed because it ran back to back to back 14.1's. Which made a tie with the full bolton R/T, and 3-4 tenths off the SRT8's- just about where I would assume it to be.

good kill. weight is the killer in those srt8s, whichever it may be. i love the chargers though, looks so aggresive. if they made a coupe
im willing to be it was pretty accurate. some may not believe me but when i was stock w/ 3.73s (rebuilt rear) i raced a stock srt8 charger. he hit when he pulled up on me and heard me downshift , and hung dead with it until we shut down at ~110ish, neither pulled. he had a passenger, i didnt. im willing to bet a car with alot more power than i had at only a few 100lbs more than me could put 5 by 130+
im not usually this blunt but youre ******* dumb and that is a very ignorant statement. it takes hardly any mods to get into the 12s, especially the autos. its just LSx car so it responds like one. im pretty sure its a closer in weight to a fully loaded WS6.

My post was complete and pure sarcasm. Ive owned numerous LSx cars with a few of them being in the 600 rwhp.

Thanks, I did pull him easily: I thought I had about 8 cars by 6400rpms in drive, my brother was back 100+ yards behind the SRT8 (he had to go around a blocking car to chase us) and he said I had at least 6 cars on him when I tapped my brakes. My track experience backed that up: .5 - .8 seconds faster.
