Any reason that you couldn't go down and forward with the headers in order to get better plug access from the top? Looks great!

well...plug wires stay cool with this design...that goes a long way. Driver side is super easy to get to...just reach up from bottom. PS was pretty easy too...remove one v-band clamp, drop downpipe section and they were right there...

cut out the secondary door bars (they were 1.25" which 25.5 called for, but need to be 1.5" for 25.3)

Got the driver side rebuilt with the 1.5" tubing and added the two 1" gussets up front as required by 25.3

need to reinstall a kidney bar (cut it out to make installing new bars easier) and then do the passenger side....those welds are a major PITA to do

I know what ya mean there. I have had the best luck setting the TIG up with a good Pulse setting and the Max amperage I would need then using a simple Torch with a non adjustable on / off switch. No worrie swith a foot pedal or thumb control then.

Looks really good so far as always. I just go the Pricing in for the Southern Outlaw 25.2 Cage kits. Has me thinking of going ahead and doing my 99 SS up.

Damn they want gussets everywhere on that thing. 6, that's every side but the halo. I'm almost surprised they didn't want them in the middle of the x too

25.3, that's a serious spec, and surly makes for a safe car. Pita to build and get in and out of too.... the interior cubic feet is drasticially being reduced, one tube at a time!

2 on each corner (every corner except for where it meets the F/C cage)...

entry and exit is identical to a 25.5 cage...only real difference is the secondary door diagonal is a hair larger in diameter
