Slotted Rotors Worth The money??

The only reason the rotors crack at the cross drill location is because whether the hole is cast there or drilled there, there will be a stress line or riser around the diameter of that hole. The simplest way to eliminate that problem is to countersink or champher the hole. When you do that it removes all the stresses created by putting a hole in that particular spot.

Or should i just machine my rotors and put the hawk pads on, i can do machine the rotors myself at school for free.

Had DuraLast rotors on my truck before they sucked ballzzzzz.
I do agree on good Q brake pads making a big impact on braking performance *** well. All i know is i have Slotted & Cross Drilled rotors on my 4x4 and camaro and i can tell you i can feel big f'n difference in stopping power then before, period.

Some people have amazingly thick skulls and refuse to consider anything in those threads. I'm not saying that drilled/slotted is bad, but at least consider the information that's been given to them and drawn your own informed conclusion

Like i've stated before i have Power Stop Cross/Drilled on my Ram 1500 4x4 had them for the past 5-6 yrs and not one friggin' issue and i do ride that bitch hard.
On camaro i haven't had the chance to even break 'em in yet, but so far so good, i love the stoppage power.

Question- Why should I use cross drilled rotors?
Answer- The primary reason is that cross drilled rotors run cooler, approximately 200-250 degrees, when used with high quality pads. This reduces the chances of warping, which has become a major problem in recent years, particularly on late model U.S. made vehicles. Additionally you will experience improved wet weather braking with shorter stopping distances. If you are experiencing pulsation on the brake pedal, your rotors are warped. It may be possible to turn them, but they will then be thinner and unable to dissipate heat as quickly as before, and will soon warp again.
Power Stop rotors are manufactured by Autospecialty, a subsidiary of TRW, and are used on many law enforcement and emergency vehicles which experience severe braking requirements, and are popular with taxi companies.
Original equipment quality rotors are used as a base stock. Each rotor requires a specific drilling pattern in order not to interfere with the cooling vanes, and this information is programmed and run on a CNC (computer numerical control ) machine. The end result is a brake rotor that is

Will slotting or cross-drilling my stock rotors improve my car's stopping performance?
DEFINITELY NOT!

Drilling diminishes a rotor's durability and cooling capacity.
Unfortunately the drilled holes also reduced the thermal capacity of the discs and served as very effective "stress raisers" significantly decreasing disc life. Improvements in friction materials have pretty much made the drilled rotor a thing of the past in racing.

To add my own $0.02....
I can provoke excessive ABS engagement on a set of four sticky Kumho V710 315s with heavy wheels using only blank OEM style rotors and what is basically a street pad.
How much more "stoppage power" do you think you need?
Not that you actually have more with those rotors...
