Sitting car questions

I bought another undercover car so my Camaro can take a break from the beatings, and I got a REALLY good deal on it, but it's been sitting for a year. I charged the battery and changed the starter and it fired on the first try. I was impressed. I am having 2 problems though. The engine is running rough at idle and the brakes are really hard to push. I think the brakes need to be flushed, but bleeding them yielded no benefits. The brake fluid bled out of the fronts had some black metallic flake in it and the back calipers are not building any pressure at all. Anybody have any suggestions on flushing the system?

Also, what steps should I take with a car that has been sitting that long? I know I probably need to change the plugs, but are there any other things I should do?

If you didn't already put in new fuel (and maybe fuel filter too... do you know if it was stored with something like Sta-Bil in the fuel?), and engine oil and oil filter, I'd definitely do that stuff.

And with the metallic crud in the brake fluid, I'd say check all the other fluids too, to be sure they don't have any crud in them also.
