Default Pro 5.0 or MGW

About to finally swap shifters and I was wondering which of the two is the one to go with?

I've had pro 5.0 for 3 years now and love it, and my camaro is a daily driver.

I've had a Pro 5.0 in many different vehicles and I've always been very happy with it.

As everyone else has said, it's all personal preference. I have not driven a Pro 5.0 myself, but I just installed my MGW about 3 weeks ago and that thing is awesome! Great quality and the shifts are night and day difference from the stock one.

I know you didn't have this as an option but I also drove a B&M Ripper, and while I thought that one was solid, I love my MGW now. Best mod to this day... although I don't have a lot of them.

I've got a B&M Ripper on the way. Like 2k2cam said, it's all preference. Some people like wearing Nike shoes and others like Adidas. Just gotta try one out and see what fits best.

Its a preference thing, they both are good shifters but feel different. I tried the 5.0 on my buddies SS and didn't like it so I got an MGW and was happy with it.

I went with a 5.0 after reading several reviews here & trying out one at the track. Its a good unit, I like the angle thats bent into the handle. I know some cut the handle down but mine is still regular length. I like the extra leverage over a short stick. I never tried a MGW but it must be very good cuz I hear nothing but good things about it.

lol @ creeper

I personally have not tried a Pro 5.0, but I do have the MGW and I absolutely love it. I couldn't ask for anything more in a shifter. I mean the piece it self looks so nice I almost don't want to use the shift boot or cover! lol.

Seriously though, shifts are extremely precise (I have not missed a gear since I switched), it's very quiet, and a perfect height for me. The throws are a lot shorter than stock, although I wouldn't complain if it was a bit shorter. I got the gripper shift *** with the 1-6 shift pattern on it and it looks bad ***, a lot better than the stock hurst ****.

Quick Reply: Pro 5.0 or MGW
