Default Mobil 1 users inside.....

If you guys use mobile 1 oil in your car/truck... you might want to go out to a PEP BOYS near you. PEP BOYS sells a calender for $1 that has coupons inside for mobile 1 oil.... buy 3qts. & get 3 qts. FREE, so i ended up paying $15.87 + tax for 6qts of oil..... The calender also has FREE stuff: wax as you dry, car wash soap, fuel system cleaner, and other various things.....

You must first buy the calander @ Pep Boys ($1) at a check out lane....

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Don't use it in my car anymore, but it can't hurt in the g/f's!

German Castrol Syntech 0w30. The Mobil 1 10w30 is too thin for the south Texas heat, and I didn't want to bother mixing the different weights. I've also read Patman's reviews on the German Castrol and like the feedback. A part of it is also personal preference.

I too made this switch. I went from consuming one and a haft quarts between changes to half a quart between changes. With Mobil 1 I used six quarts per change and would have to add one and a half between changes. Now with the Castrol I use five and a half quarts and would add the other 1/2 between changes. That is the reason for my change I wanted to see if I could get rid or decrease my oil consumption and it worked.

Is there a difference between the German Castrol Syntec and Castrol Syntec? I use Mobile one and I was just wondering I might make the switch myself. Also you use 0w30 not 10w30? thanks for the input Chris

Patman is a moderator on this board! You may have seen him on the BobIsTheOilGuy.com board also.

Here's a ton of his posts about oil:

Thanks for the info. Robert. Was going to Wally World to buy my oil today when I saw your post lastnight. Bought my oil and two aditional calanders so I can get the discount on my next two oil changes. I was going to change my girls oil today also and she had bought her oil durring the week. She is now going to take it back tommrow and go to Pep Boys. She called the Pep Boys near her house and they told her they pulled the calanders because the Mobil 1 deal was a missprint. She is going to try the one by my place tommrow. She wants to try the new Extended Performance Mobile 1 like she bought at Wally World. She said if they don`t let her get the Extended Performance she`s going to run the regular Mobil 1. Good looking out Robert.
